  1. Manhatten Project kept secret by 130,000 people. The idea that outrageous conspiracies cannot be real because some one would always let it slip is patently unreal.

  2. Typical "new atheist" waste of eight minutes here. I'm not an atheist but I happily and humbly came here hoping to catch some of the best material or at least links and references thereto on the topic of debunking and refuting 911 conspiracies and hearing what Michael himself had to say specifically. Instead I get to see Sam Harris' smug smile, tone and delivery in Rubin and an almost completely inconsequential and substance-less interview with one of the premiere skeptic voices in the English-speaking world. You guys will be doing a dis-service to the non-religious/skeptical/ world if you don't get your act together and avoid running aground in the academic world. I get tying to popularize the movement and make all these streams of thought mainstream (no pun intended[?]), but at the same time this is just ridiculous and now people in academia on multiple levels aren't taking guys like Dennet, Hitchens, Krauss and Dawkins seriously when they talk about religion and related topics outside their field(s) of expertise. End pissy, first world problem rant.

  3. David Rubin makes a great show but by just letting Michael Shermer having his way he makes it a little bit too easy on himself. The basic mistake that mr Shermer makes is to have Occam´s razor as the litmus test of whether a suggestion is true or not. This may be true but only to a point. Occam´s razor does not apply where there is EVIDENCE that points in a different direction. When it comes to 9/11 and JFK there are in both cases overwhelming evidence that the official story is false. As long as the false story is supported by the government IN SPITE of the evidence there is a reason to ask WHY they are supporting the false story. Michael Shermer unfortunately does not move outside his own "sceptic" box but prefers to be the king of is own realm and protecting it in an unchallenged way.

  4. These people are fucking idiots. Conspiracy theorists are intelligent skeptics. The ones most religious are the coincidence theorists that trust what their T.V. government claims.

  5. Dave Rubin and Michael Shermer – Answer a question for me – I agree that conspiracy theorists try to answer complex situations with simple answers, but then why do they also deny simple answers, for events, which evidence shows are obviously true?

For example that Islamic terrorism stems from the direct, simple, teachings of Islam, found in simple language, in black and white, in the Quran and the Hadiths, and plainly stated by terrorist leaders and "martyrs" in written and video testimony of their motives.

I would suggest that once they assume a theory, based on cherry-picked or flimsy evidence, that theory becomes an article of faith for them. They then have to refit the evidence to agree with their faith.

  6. Shermer basically admits at 6:00 he is not able to debunk any of the 9/11 arguments. No surprize because Michael Shermer only became popular by tackling superstitions of the obvious kind. His problem is generalizing and associating the 9/11 questions with popular conceptions on improbabilities such as 'they would talk' and 'too many people'. How he takes on the subject most of the times betrays he denies the validity of 'Operation Northwoods' and how the '9/11 INTERCEPTED' video presentation destroys the official narrative concerning the officially registered flight trajectories.
Also the oversimplified notion about 'inside job' Shermer gladly ridicules as if it was about Bush pushing the switches. But these characterizations do work in favor of people among a public not being able to deal with inconvenient findings about 9/11. The emotional charge of 9/11 makes people uncapable to engage in dispassionate scrutiny.

  8. 2:10 What a great strawman there: no it's not complex, it's just 12 guys in London which form the illuminati. So you over simplify the conspiracy theory, so it sounds nuts.
That rules out the possibility of people trying to have a control over our economy and financial system?

Now take a look at the facts: central banks are privately hold companies. Is it unthinkable that these central banks have somewhat an important influence on the economy. Like determining the interest rate and thus indirectly (yet definitely) the availability money by new loans?
If only six companies own the legacy media in the US, couldn't they control the narrative about what is put out there?

Sure it is a complex world, there is information, disinformation, half truths but also facts out there.

If you want to know what can be true, you should think for yourself and look for facts yourself, don't just accept anything.

What this interview does is put a label on anything that is not mainstream, it's crazy! Don't go beyond the status quo, don't question the narrative. We know it better, just listen to us.

What this proves is that you are being intellectually lazy if you are not willing and able to make up your mind yourself and dare to question anything you already belief.

  9. Michael Shermer is a con-artist, a book burner, and it's beyond a disgrace that he's the face of the skeptics movement. He believes in propaganda films like Blackfish, he tries to ban books he disagrees with, he tried to get a man killed and got away with it.
TRR is normally a great show that tried to bring in every point of view they can, but I bet you're all too cowardly to bring on David Cole, a jew exposing the holocaust, and Michael Shermer. To bring him on would truly show you're willing to listen to everyone. Instead you bring on this disgusting man and liar.

  10. I would like to ask this idiot: If you would have, say, trillion of dollars or pounds or Euros – would you be interested to manage them and how would you do it? Would you become a president, or would you better buy two-three or more presidents ?
We do not trust people acting before cameras before we have experience that hey are actors playing games for a purpose. Everything what follows is a logical reaction to their games. Cheaters, Liars, Bandits, Criminals.

  11. Since the US will descend into civil war if the oil even doubled in price, then oil would be a good motive.

BTW, oil is going to get very expensive as it runs out over the next decades.

  12. Michael Shermer is one of the most famous paid trolls. But at least he's not stupid. So I like him. The bad guys are those who are genetically rotten, or wrongly raised, who can't see the truth even when the truth is told to them. I will exclude teenagers and young adults from this group, because humans (and animals) are stupid and naive when they are young. That's why we like them. However, anyone over 30, who still believe in bullshitters like Shermer, may have a serious mental problem.

Because at that age myelin in their brain will start solidifying their previous experiences, so if they didn't learn to differentiate truth from the lies by then, there's a much lower chance they'll ever learn. Myelin is the white brain matter, which was previously thought to be useless, but turned out it slows down growth of neural connections in exchange for making the signals pass much faster. In other words, you can't learn new facts as easily as before, but those that you have learned before can be used deeper and faster.

Myelin is the reason why "an old dog can't learn new tricks". It's not completely true that old dogs (or humans) can't learn new tricks, but because of myelin their learning time is a lot longer. Myelin makes you think deeper, but slows down learning stuff that's not compatible with knowledge you already got. In other words, myelin prevents you from changing your mind in the presence of new facts. But you can use the old facts, or new compatible facts, faster. This is why youngsters (which don't have much myelin) think so shallowly, but they can learn many different unrelated skills quickly. They can also easily be indoctrinated, which is what religions, mainstream media, schools and videos like above, use frequently.

So… if you're near 30 and you still believe Michael's bullshit… your brain has been successfully programmed. In the wrong way. Time to start worrying.

  13. I have plenty of evidence that Shermer is a shill. His stance on the absurd official narrative on 9/11 is a belief in pseudoscience as established in the NIST Report on the collapse of the World Trade Towers. Shermer is in fact a pseudo-skeptic one who pretends to explain his position with scurrilous rhetorical sophistry.
As seen in this revealing photo, the Twin Towers’ destruction exhibited all of the characteristics of destruction by explosives: https://i0.wp.com/www1.ae911truth.org/images/stories/explo2.jpg
*Destruction proceeds through the path of greatest resistance at nearly free-fall acceleration
    *Improbable symmetry of debris distribution
    *Extremely rapid onset of destruction
*Over 100 first responders reported explosions and flashes
    *Multi-ton steel sections ejected laterally
*Mid-air pulverization of 90,000 tons of concrete & metal decking
*Massive volume of expanding pyroclastic-like clouds
*1200-foot-diameter debris field: no “pancaked” floors found
*Isolated explosive ejections 20-40 stories below demolition front
*Total building destruction: dismemberment of steel frame
*Several tons of molten metal found under all 3 high-rises
*Evidence of thermite incendiaries found by FEMA in steel samples
*Evidence of explosives found in dust samples
*The three high-rises exhibited none of the characteristics of destruction by fire

  14. Gross generalities from both of these clowns. No proofs of anything with specifics. There is in fact evidence that Roosevelt provoked the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. The Bushes are in fact great friends with the bin Laden family.
