Limbaugh: Ben Carson not equipped to be president

Chris Wallace of "Fox News Sunday" interviews Rush Limbaugh on Nov. 22, 2015

Chris Wallace of “Fox News Sunday” interviews Rush Limbaugh on Nov. 22, 2015

Front-running GOP candidate Dr. Ben Carson is “probably not” equipped right now to be president, according to talk-radio star Rush Limbaugh, but the top-rated host in America says he’d “absolutely” vote for the former neurosurgeon over Democrat Hillary Clinton.

Appearing on “Fox News Sunday,” Limbaugh was asked by host Chris Wallace to comment on some of the major players in this election cycle’s hunt for the White House.

When Carson’s name was mentioned, Limbaugh said Carson is “one of the most decent human beings in this country. He’s one of the finest men. I’ve met him. The things he has done, the places he’s come from … and I cringe when I see that they (the media) are trying to destroy him.”

Wallace asked Limbaugh if Carson is “equipped to be president.”

“Probably not at this stage,” said Limbaugh, “but any of these Republicans running would be better than Hillary or better than anything we’ve got now. So, based on that comparison, yes. I would vote for him if it was up to him and Hillary. Absolutely! Without a doubt.”

Regarding Republican front-runner Donald Trump, Limbaugh said, “Donald Trump is, I think, doing a great service. He is showing that you do not have to fear attacks from the media. He is showing you do not have to fear being politically correct or violating political correctness.”

On Ted Cruz, who has surged to No. 2 in Iowa in a new poll, Limbaugh called the Texas senator “brilliant and conservative through and through. Trustworthy, strong, confident, leader, and somebody on whom you can totally depend.”

And although for Jeb Bush is a Republican, Limbaugh seemed less endorsing in his comments of the former Florida governor.

“I don’t think he really wants to do this,” Limbaugh explained. “I’m watching and I don’t see passion. I don’t see fire. It’s as though people in his camp want him to do it ’cause they want to get back in power. I just don’t see Jeb with all that energy that says, ‘I need this. The country needs me. I can’t wait to do this.’ I just don’t see any of that.”

The final candidate mentioned by Wallace was Hillary Clinton, to which Limbaugh responded: “I just think ‘corruption.’ When I think of the Clintons, I think ‘corruption,’ and skirting the edges. Don’t trust them, and certainly don’t think the country would be in the best hands possible if either of them got back in power.”

As President Obama continues his push to bring more Syrian “refugees” into America, Limbaugh was asked what he would do if he were in charge.

“I would pause it. I would put a pause on it right now,” he said. “I don’t profess to be an expert in everything. I’m an expert in a lot of things, Chris, but not everything. And in this case, I would get some people who can tell me how best to do this. We paused refugees being allowed to enter the country in 2011. Do you know who did it? Barack Hussein O. There was a six-month pause on Iraqi refugees for the very same reason people are worried about the Syrian refugees today.

“Look, I have friends who are Syrians. I play golf with them. They’re great people. This is not about that. It’s not about bigotry or racism or anti-ethnics or against certain nationalities. It’s about the defense and protection of the United States of America and our Constitution, which is what is the primary job of the president of the United States. And again, he just doesn’t seem to be oriented in that direction or interested in it.

“It’s almost as though he thinks that we’ve committed all these crimes since our founding, unjust and immoral, and it’s time for payback. It’s time for us to find out what the rest of the world goes through every day. It’s time for us to bite the bullet.”

Limbaugh also scorched Obama for his lack of success in dealing with the Islamic State terrorists known as ISIS.

“I don’t think he’s got a strategy that deals with ISIS,” he said. “I think Obama’s strategy … best I’ve been able to learn, and I’ve looked really hard at this, it seems to me that Obama is linked to Iran and Syria in this. The sectarian violence throughout the Middle East is his excuse for not doing anything about it. Iran capitalizes on all of this chaos and crisis. And Chris, look, I don’t like saying any of this, but it’s obvious Obama is very sensitive to Iran’s needs and is trying to satisfy them. We have lifted the sanctions. They’ve got $150 billion they didn’t have. They are on the way to get a nuclear weapon, all because of Barack Hussein O, and I think his dealing with ISIS is inept, and incompetent, and nonexistent.

“So what would you do? How would you destroy ISIS?” asked Wallace.

Limbaugh responded: “Well, in the first place, I would get some people around me and listen to them. I would get some people around me who are experts in dealing with groups like this. One thing, I would do, Chris, I would hit their oil. I would hit their oil depots and I would hit their oil tankers. We’re not. Do you know why we’re not? Because we have rules of engagement. The administration says, “Well, some of the drivers might be civilians, and we can’t go there – and there might be some civilians at the actual oil depots and oil wells that they’ve taken over.”

That’s their primary source of revenue. I would hit that and I wouldn’t care. You know, Chris, the world is governed by the aggressive use of force, and the purpose of war – and the purpose of militaries – is to kill people and break things. That’s how you win. And you keep doing that until the other side says, “I’m sorry,” and surrenders. Barack Obama’s No. 1 enemy is the Republican Party, and the conservative movement. You see he gets animated. He does not need cue cards, he does not teleprompter when he starts ripping into them. But when you get ISIS on the board or anything in the Middle East, he’s very cautious, very precise, very … Don’t want to offend them; don’t want to make them mad.”

Obama shielding most illegals from deportation

(WASHINGTONTIMES) — President Obama’s marquee deportation amnesty has been stalled by the courts, but the rest of his executive actions on immigration, announced exactly a year ago, are moving forward — including his move protecting more than 80 percent of illegal immigrants from any danger of deportation.

The amnesty, dubbed Deferred Action for Parental Accountability was supposed to grant full tentative legal status — including work permits, Social Security numbers and driver’s licenses — to more than 4 million illegal immigrants. It has been halted by a federal appeals court, and its fate will soon rest with the Supreme Court.

Ted Cruz to Obama: ‘Insult me to my face’

(NBC NEWS) Sen. Ted Cruz had sharp words for President Barack Obama over his comments regarding Republican rhetoric on Syrian refugees, saying his statement “is utterly unbefitting of a president.”

“If you want to insult me, you can do it overseas, you can do it in Turkey, you can do it in foreign countries, but I would encourage you, mister president, come back and insult me to my face,” the Texas senator and Republican presidential candidate said this on Capitol Hill Wednesday.

President Obama had harsh words for Republicans calling for a stop of Syrian refugees to the United States, saying such calls are just “political posturing.”

Democrat ends candidacy after ISIS tweet

(FOX NEWS) MINNEAPOLIS – A Democratic candidate for the Minnesota House ended his campaign Sunday, hours after he tweeted that the Islamic State group “isn’t necessarily evil” and its members were doing what they thought was best for their community.

Dan Kimmel, 63, announced the end of his bid for office on his campaign website and Twitter account. He said Saturday evening’s tweet was in response to a statement made during a candidate debate, not in response to Friday’s violent attacks in Paris that left more than 120 people dead and more than 350 wounded.

He said his tweet was poorly worded and didn’t convey his intent.

California student killed in Paris terror attacks

(Los Angeles Times) A Cal State Long Beach student was among those killed in the Paris terrorist attacks, according to the university.

Nohemi Gonzalez, a 23-year-old design student from the El Monte area, was part of an international exchange program at the Strate School of Design. She was dining with fellow Cal State Long Beach students at a Paris restaurant Friday night when she was killed, the university’s president said. The 16 other students studying in France have been reported safe.

On Saturday, Gonzalez’s friends expressed their sorrow over her death.

“Yesterday I lost the most important person in my life,” wrote Gonzalez’s boyfriend, Tim Mraz, on Instagram. “She was my best friend and she will always be my angel forever. I am lost for words. My prayers are with her family. Such a bright soul and the sweetest girl with a smile on her face.”

Neo-Nazi’s efforts to create all-white enclaves thwarted

(MSN) Plans by a neo-Nazi to turn two south-central Nebraska towns into all-white hamlets ran off the rails last week after residents joined forces to sabotage the effort.

Craig Cobb had purchased property in the towns of Red Cloud and Inavale in a Webster County sheriff’s sale in September and also inquired about property in two nearby north-central Kansas towns. He told The Kansas City Star that he planned to sell the property at deep discounts to young white couples.

The action was part of an effort called Pioneer Little Europe, a strategy to create communities where white nationalists live in close proximity to businesses that offer cultural facilities and services.

Sheriffs livid over Obama’s massive felon release

America’s lawmen are livid with President Obama over his administration’s decision to release thousands of federal inmates.

Changes to federal sentencing rules by the U.S. Sentencing Commission allowed 6,112 felons to be released Nov. 1. The Wall Street Journal estimated Oct. 6 that as many 46,000 inmates may be freed in total.

Local sheriffs say Obama assurances that only nonviolent drug offenders are being released is a giant ruse.

“There’s no transition here, there’s no safety net. This is the biggest sham they are trying to sell the American people,” said Sheriff Paul Babeu of Arizona’s Pinal County on Wednesday, Fox News reported. “On average these criminals have been in federal prison for nine years – you don’t have to be a sheriff to realize that a felon after nine years in jail isn’t going to be adding value to the community. A third are illegals and felons, so they can’t work. What do we think they are going to do?”

This infallible argument for armed self-defense presents real stories of Americans fighting back against criminals – and surviving because they were armed. “America Fights Back: Armed Self-Defense In A Violent Age” is a must-read for anyone who has ever wondered if concealed carry can actually save and protect.

The Obama administration says its prisoner release, coupled with “ban the box” executive orders allowing ex-convicts to delay the period of time before they tell federal hiring personnel and federal contractors of their criminal history, will funnel them into productive jobs.

Obama

Sheriff Harold Eavenson of Rockwall County, Texas, said Monday he does not trust Obama.

“If [the Obama administration is] not capable of making honest and prudent decisions in securing our borders, how can we trust them to make the right decision on the release of prisoners who may return to a life of crime?” Sheriff Eavenson said, Fox reported. “For them to tell me or tell citizens that they’re going to do a good job and these inmates are non-violent, when in many instances drug crimes, drug purchasing, drug trafficking are related to other, violent crimes – I’d be amazed if the 6,000 … being released are non-violent.”

Texas is being asked to absorb 597 inmates into its communities.

Jonathan Thompson, the executive director of the National Sheriff’s Association, told Fox the broader concern among the 3,000 sheriffs he represents is the feeling Obama released federal inmates without a strategy.

“I think it’s a larger feeling of unease related to a lack of a plan as it relates to criminal justice, criminal reform and criminal release and I think that’s what you’re really sensing here,” Thompson said. “There are many sheriffs feeling as though the administration will go through the motions of asking the questions but really not care what the opinion or expert advice of law enforcement is.”

Thompson has federal statistics to buttress his concerns: The Bureau of Justice Statistics reports recidivism rates at 68 percent within three years and 77 percent within five years, Breitbart News reported Nov. 2. Its sole mission is to, “collect, analyze, publish, and disseminate information on crime, criminal offenders, victims of crime, and the operation of justice systems at all levels of government.”

Kevin Ring, director of strategic initiatives at Families Against Mandatory Minimums, countered the sheriffs’ concerns on Wednesday, telling the network, “Tens of thousands of inmates leave federal and state prisons every week and so there is no reason to be particularly worried about this group. Anyone who says otherwise is appealing to the public’s worst fears.”
